A special edition of the Ministry of Health Bulletin focused on medical guidelines has been published.

Bulletin

In cooperation with local medical guideline developers, a special edition of the Ministry of Health Bulletin was introduced. Among other things, it presents the methodology for developing and updating clinical practice guidelines and operational recommendations in healthcare. The document offers readers a comprehensible overview of how such guidelines are created, what types exist, and at what intervals they need to be updated to reflect the latest scientific knowledge. The Cochrane methodology served as a model for our own methodology, which is adapted to the Czech context while maintaining international standards.

This edition also includes a section on the Central Registry, which describes in detail the process of registering and publishing individual guidelines. The transparency and systematic nature of the entire process aim to ensure higher quality of care and easier access to validated information for healthcare professionals and guideline developers alike.

Furthermore, the special edition includes peer reviews by internationally recognized experts in guideline development. Specifically, the publication was reviewed by Zachary Munn from the University of Adelaide in Australia, Holger Schünemann, Director of Cochrane Canada, and Marge Reinap from Estonia. These reviewers particularly appreciated the emphasis on transparency and systematic methodology, as well as its accessibility to the broader professional community.

A significant part of the publication also consists of concise summaries of 15 operational recommendations prepared in collaboration with leading Czech experts from various medical fields. The guarantors of each recommendation are respected authorities in their fields:
